Windshield Damage: 101
Your windshield is comprised of several layers of glass pressed together. Most damage to a windshield will penetrate
one or more of the outer layers, but rarely breaks all the way through. The white coloration you see in a crack or chip in
the windshield is actually the space between these layers of glass. This space greatly reduces the windshield structural
integrity and will spread if not repaired. The windshield repair process involves refilling this space between glass layers
with a specially formulated glass resin. The glass resin is pressed into the windshield crack or chip and is allowed to
dry. The resulting repair not only restores the strength of your windshield but leaves the crack or chip nearly invisible.
